(I'm using this as a test to create this blog. This is an extract from a leaflet delivered soon after the Southend Local elections in May when 5 new UKIP Councillors were elected.)
Any potential leader of Southend
Council will only get the UKIP groups support if they…
1.Restart
the process of planning sea-defences in West Shoebury
2.Review
the
decision to close
all of
the Council’s
Care Homes
3.Do
not remove wardens from sheltered housing
4.Review Council finances
with a focus on debt reduction
5.Work
to increase the number of Children attending the four Grammar schools from the
Southend Borough.
6.Work
towards replacing the undemocratic cabinet system with an accountable committee
system of local government.
Any potential leader that does not
commit to the above will not get the UKIP group’s support.
